My alpine ski boots push on my ankle bone and really hurt. is an exacto knife too extreme of a solution?

They push right on the bone, and the removable liner is very springy and soft, so punching the foam in doesn't work. i want to just cut a hole for the ankle bone to stick out ...show more

Answer:
Don't cut them! You will void the warranty if youdo. Take them back to the dealer and ask for a different liner.

Yeah. You can have the liners fit with ring shaped foam pieces and there are a few other things a bootfitter can do to get you fitting well. Don't cut your liners. Take them to the ski shop and have them worked on. It might cost you $25 or so. You'll also wreck any warranty on your boots if you take matters into your own hands.
