Why does barcelona wear unicef jersey?

UNICEF don't pay barca anything. Barca are giving them free space to advertise. They've never had a shirt sponsor, and technically UNICEF aren't a sponsor either. It's a great thing to see in these days when football is over commercialised, and fans are only treated as customers. It's nice to see a club with a moral conscience..... wonder if it's a coincidence they're a club owned by fans??? - i think not

Vico is essentially correct, Barcelona football club has agreed a deal with UNICEF to support their activities for the next 5 years, this involves paying Unicef one million five hundred thousand Euros each year, providing the use of it's advertising assets (the shirt), it will also support them through it's players, promoters & members. As such It's expected that a Barcelona player will be named as a Unicef spokesperson.

unicef sponsors them, basically advirtising. You pay an amount for a season...or whatever it is and that company or whatever it happens to be is placed on the front of their jerseys.
