I'm not sure how to get rid of skunks in your yard but I can tell you how to get rid of the smell when your dog gets sprayed. Mix 1 quart of peroxide, 2 Tablespoons of Dawn dish liquid and 1/4 cup of baking soda together. Soak the dog in water, rub in that mixture all over (be careful around the face) and let sit for 5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. That will take care of most of the smell. And don't worry about your dog being bleached out by the peroxide, it won't happen. My dog was black when we did that and she's still black. Now when I take my dog outside at night, I scan the yard with a flashlight first to be sure it's clear. THEN I let her out.

They do have a strong odor and I feel sorry for your dog. You can put mothballs around in the yard but your dog might think they are to play with although they have their own odor. You can also get a small animal trap and put some bait in it to entice the skunk. Ask an exterminator what advice he has for you. I live in Northern Arizona and they are all around this country.

they do not like noise....but making loud noise 24/7 is not a likely option..... there are scent tablets you can spread at the edges of your yard that will keep the stinkers out... don't leave unattended dog food outside....skunks like dog and cat food.....tastes better than garbage
