Can I switch a cell number to a land line?

How do I switch my land number to my cell number?

• I'm afraid that if I cancel my cell service first, the number will somehow become restricted from use or taken by someone else...

  You have to contact the provider and ask them to transfer your old number (cell phone number) to the phone of your choice. What they will do is check to see if it is available and if so then they will make the transfer. Keep in mind there may be a fee associated with the request. What I did was go onto the provider website and act as if I was establishing a new line it asked if I wanted a new number or to recycle my old and I chose the later I entered my number and then it advised me if the number was usable or not. There may also be a link that allow you to check without going through all of this, either way it is possible by contacting the land line provider.
