Is it normal for my amp to get a little hot?

Is it normal to get an amp for car speakers (not subs)?

  • Do many people get an amp for their aftermarket speakers or do they just get an amp for their sub?

  • Answer:

yes it is thats perfectly ok it will power your speakers, if you dont want subs with a lot of bass then get some 8" subs put them in a separate box and mount them on opposite sides of you car with a decent amp that will make everything sound pretty good, sugest rockford fosgate

Quite normal......depends on the application and the operator of said system

Regular speakers don't need monstrous power. For thundering, sheetmetal rippling bass, it takes more power that an amp can provide. The lower the frequency, the more power it takes. Your tweeters on 25 watts at 3000 Hz can be as loud as you woofers at 30 Hz running 90 watts. Those figures are comparative.

I guess it depends on the speakers, I would be worried about giving them too much power and blowing them out. Usually the deck provides ample power.
