Explaining everything you requested will take as much space as a news paper… so please excuse me if I just wing it and get the point. When it comes to power, any ohm sub will give off the same power, provided you supply it with the equivalent RMS and ohm ratings. However, as you go up the ohms (1, 2, 4, 6, 8), the subwoofer’s sound quality is improved, load on the amplifier and subwoofer is reduced, and the amplifier’s price goes up! While as you go down the ohms( 8, 6, 4, 2, 1) subwoofer’s sound quality is reduced, load on the amplifier and subwoofer is increased, and amplifier’s price drops. Your 18” Solo X subwoofer is rated @ 5000 Wats RMS! That’s 385 amps just to run your subwoofer at its maximum RMS rating! Most alternators are less than 100 amps, and the strong ones that come with modern cars are like just 150 amps! You need at least 500 amps to run your subwoofer along with your standard car peripherals! And since you are probably gonna install other speakers and amplifiers for midranges and highs, you are probably expecting to use over 500 amps of power, which means, you’ll probably need something like a 700 amp alternator! If there is one! My strong advice is for you do find yourself another more reasonable subwoofer in the 1000W RMS range; which will satisfy your needs! No offence, but it does not sound like you are a pro SPL DB dragster, so why put your self, your budget and your car through all that trouble?

There is no loudness difference between 2 ohm or 4 ohm. An ohm is the electrical resistance to the amp provided by the sub/speaker. How you load an amp determines the amount of power out. There is a trade off though, the lower the impedance (ohms) the more power is pushed as well as higher distortion and more heat is generated. The excessive heat will shorten the life of the amp. For best overall performance, it's far better to get a higher powered amp and load it with 4 ohms than a lower powered amp and force it to push more power with a lower impedance (2 or less ohms) load. The other trade off is price. An amp that will handle higher power at 4 ohm will be more expensive. You should always match up RMS (Root Mean Square) watts of Subs and amp per channel as well as final impedance's (ohms). theres not a loudness difference between 2 ohm and 4 ohm. they give you different wiring options and play a part in a different area. and yes for sure your gonna need an extra alternator and battery. thats a serious subwoofer right there so i hope your committed into spending money on a sound system cause thats gonna need some investing into

1. buy the newest version via in the stock# will be 04,06 etc. it doesn't matter what ohm load you get one works the same as the other , the ohm load is to match the impedance from your subs to your amp.,If you are just running one you will probably need the dual 2 ohm version for a 1 ohm load, but there are many complicated variations of this such as running 2 amps linked to one sub. 2. Kicker zx25001d,Hifonics generation XXV,etc. 3.probably all three, battery, alt., and upgrading your primary wire 4.I would recommend you take it to a shop and have it installed, the Kicker solo x is not an entry level sub and if you are not familiar with enclosure design,and/or the general principals of car audio, you will cost yourself alot of money real quick.

It is not possible to answer a question like this. There are too many variables, what enclosure is used, what vehicle it is in, and where it is put, etc. Your best bet is to go to a shop and give a listen.
