    If you have Windows XP, when you turn on your computer switch your browser from Windows Internet Explorer to Yahoo then click on Start, then click on Set Program Access and Defaults, then click on Custom, then click on use current web browser and click on use current e-mail program. You can click on to still allow access to Windows browser and e-mail but they won't be your default anymore.

open internet explorer then go to the tools option on the tool bar and click on internet options in the menu.in internet options click on general and change the web page address .this will set yahoomail as your default page.

First open Internet Explorer. Click on Tools then Programs. Where it says E-mail scroll down to Yahoo! Mail and click on it. To be sure this setting works with any browser that you are using you will need to open the Set Program Access And Defaults on your computer. If it's not listed when you click on Start then go into your Control Panel to access it. When you open it click on Custom. The second category listed is Choose a default e-mail program make sure to check the one that says Use my current e-mail program. Click ok and it should update to that preference.
