How can you hate flying? Anyway, I have been on lots of plane trips and there is no way to keep your ears from popping. You can, though, doing things to help pop them quicker. Talk, chew gum, yawn, just move your jaw.

Chewing gum is really the best and easiest way. You can also try holding your mouth tightly closed, hold your nose, and then try to blow hard but without allowing any air to escape. Sometimes that will pop your ears back to normal.

All you have to do is keep swallowing about 4 or 5 times and then it goes away. No need to chew gum or anything else.
