For African American Christians:What do you think about Kwanzaa?Is it worth celebrating?

Kwanzaa, like Thanksgiving, is a spiritual holiday without religious dogma attached. Kwanzaa really celebrates the values of community, particularly the African-American community. I've participated in Kwanzaa once or twice, and have found in it a spiritual or gut connection to my ethnic identity that I've felt with no other holiday, probably like the Irish feel with St. Patrick's Day or the Jews with Passover. However, I usually don't celebrate it because I don't need it. Christmas is meaningful enough for me, and now we have Martin Luther King Day circa January 15.

it's kind of pointless and awkward. i'm black but i don't celebrate it and don't think i ever will. no, it's not against Christian beliefs. it's just a holiday that people of african ancestory celebrate. HOW COOL! pLeAsE!

not really! Not even Christmas there is not one verse in the bible that states YHWH or SO called Jesus was born on DEC 25. DO your research.

if you are christian, be wary of kwanzaa. the creator, a man convicted of pouring detergent down a woman's mouth, squeezing another woman's toe in a vice, and hitting them both in the heads with toaster ovens, is very anti-christian. he says "jesus is psychotic" and criticizes christianity nonstop in his book, "the quotable karenga"

I don't think it is religious. But then again I don't really know what it is. I never met anyone who celebrates that.
