Can you lose your nursing license?

  • Ok so my moms an RN and I was wondering if she could lose her nursing license if they found MY weed in the house. She dosen't smoke only I do so she could pass a drug test if ...show more

  • Answer:

Absolutely she can. If you have smoked around her, she will test positive. If the police find drugs in HER HOUSE, she will be charged. She also has full knowledge of the drugs in her house she will be charged. For testing positive she could possibly go through a board mandated rehab program which is expensive and will limit her RN duties. But for the criminal charges the Board of Nursing will suspend her license immediately until she goes to court. If convicted for possession her license will be revoked. If you don't believe this just go to your state's Board of Nursing website and read the penalties. At the very least no one working with her should ever trust her nor should her patients. Your mother is an idiot for allowing this to go on in her house and does not deserve a nursing license and should get out rather than darken this profession with her stupidity. Anyone working with her who holds any type of professional license and has knowledge of this should be turning her into the Board of Nursing or risk facing penalties themselves.

Yes, she can get fired. If the cops so a search, and the medical board finds out, your moms job is toast, and she will have her license revoked. Stop being stupid. And, of course Im going to say Something about drugs being bad. Don't tell people not to. You're really looking immature posting about hiding weed in your house with your mom being a nurse. Grow up.

I agree idiots like your mother shoud not be allowed to hold a nursing license. Hopefully someone will turn her in to the Board of Nursing along with reporting the activity at her house to the police. If you are a minor (under the age of 18), you will be removed from her care probably permanently. This is totally irresponsible of her to allow this in her house and she should never work as a nurse if she can't control what is going on in her own home.

Anything illegal found on her property can affect her employment. If you think that's bullship, it's time to get off the dope and get a clue. She can pass drug tests until the cows come home, but if weed is found in the posession of a minor under her care and under her roof, she's going to have problems. If you aren't a minor, then move out and stop being so selfish. Putting your weed before her job and income is so childish.
