People that call network / peer-to-peer / multilevel style marketing a scam is lazy. You can make money at this. However, it is a lot of work. There are many a student who did well in this early in their career and moved on. Others, like Mary Kay lifers, have done very well selling this way. The choice is yours.

I would just go ahead and quit , there's nothing wrong with it! It is, in fact, a scam, and you shouldn't feel obligated to stay in it at all. And given that they deceived you, I wouldn't worry about just quitting and leaving...they can't make you stay!
