Both as attachments

You may opt, cover letter in main text box and resume as attachment. However both can also be sent as attachments, with a short note.

I usually send both as attachments, and then include a short note in the email text. Because employers tend to print these out, by making them attachments, I can control how they are going to look and maintain a consistent appearance.

i used to be a recruiter for my company. and it really doesn't matter if you send it in the body or attachment. but i did prefer cover letter as the body of the email and resume as an attachment. also make sure you send your resume in a simple format. not too many crazy fonts or formatting. this is because some companies run resumes through a search system to filter them out for key words they are looking for and sometimes crazy formatting will mess up the scan and you're resume gets skipped.

well the first option sounds much better.

resume and covering letters can be written with professional help on the net by the job portals such as timesjob and naukri.com and sent as an attachment to the perspective employers .u can write it in the main text box also but it will be better if you send it as an attachment as it gives a good impression to the employers..............

I would suggest a formal covering letter in the body of the email and resume as an attachment. You must key-in the complete word instead of typing in a SMS manner (e.g., wud - would and u - you etc.,).

Include your Cover letter as the first page of your document. So page one of the document you send is the cover page, and the following pages is the resume. That way you're only sending one attachment. Good luck to you.
