What causes swollen ankles, when there is no injury involved?

  • I have heard that a lot of sodium can cause this, but I don't think I have had very much sodium. I was out drinking and woke up with both ankles very swollen. I was not drunk ...show more

  • Answer:

Same thing happened to me once after drinking also. I could barely move my feet my ankles were so swollen. I am pretty sure it was just sodium. I took a water pill and it was all better in around an hour or two. Good luck.

u may be dehydrated or one of ur vains might have like stopped letting the blood through so try puttin a towel with warm-hot water on it that might help..or it could be a gout

TeenAngel!!!

Way too much drinking. Could be gout, could be retaining too much fluid, do you realize how much sodium is in the foods you eat and the beverages you drink? Look into kidney and liver function. Go to webmd.com and then go see a docto.

Dehidration. Happens to me now and then. Drink tons of water and take it easy for a day, maybe roll your ankles a little. They should get better soon.
