What the best way to controll my dreams?

How do you controll your dreams?

  • I heard about this thing, I think it's called lucid dreaming and it enables you to controll your dreams, how do you do this?

  • Answer:

Yes, you're right. It's called lucid dreaming. Some people have the natural ability to control their dreams (like me), some people learn to control their dreams, and others just can't control their dreams. Ever since I was about ten, I could control my dreams. Part of it was fear of falling (I am afraid of heights, even in the dream world) but the other part was a natural ability I had to control what happened. I'm not sure if it'll help but here's how I control my dreams. I enter my dream and make sure that I know what's going on. I wouldn't want to spoil a good dream by changing it. Next, I would not just imagine, but believe that I am in a different situation/place. The dream slowly (not too slowly, fortunately) becomes what I wanted it to be. I am able to control my dream anytime after that. After years of doing this, I've found that my dreams have suddenly automatically changed scenes and situations to suit what I am feeling in response to it. Hopefully you can get control of your dreams and enjoy it.

I learned to do this years ago. We dream while we are in REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, which is either before entering deep sleep or after leaving deep sleep. I believe the cycle goes: Awake, hypnogogic, REM sleep, deep sleep, REM sleep, hypnopompic, awake. People can be jolted straight from deep sleep to awake, as I'm sure you know. So, we are dreaming while we are only half-asleep. This means that some part of your brain is not sleeping. The next time you're dreaming - and this works - just think to yourself 'Hey, I am in control of this dream, and I can go and do whatever I want.' Which you most certainly can! I learned how to do this during a long period of very bad nightmares. During one such bad-dream I just stood up to the demon and told it to f**k off, and I strolled off in a different direction. I soon discovered that I could create doors, through which I could walk, to completely change the direction of any dream, to something that I wanted. Many nightmares were very quickly turned into truly enjoyable and enlightening experiences after that! Dreams have the chance of being turned into something wonderful, you only need to realize that while you're dreaming, you are actually still almost awake.

Try jumping into the air a few times a day when nobody is around. Do this daily. After three to four weeks, if you've been consistent, you'll have a dream where you jump into the air. But in dreams, we don't just drop back to the ground, we float back down. Then you'll know you're in a dream.
