Why can't I upgrade msn?

Windows 95: msn messenger. i have version 5 and its forceing me to upgrade...but cant?

upon upgrading im told that my system(windows 95) cant handle the upgrade and installation is aborted. so what am i supposed to do to be able to use msn on my version of windows?
