Does anyone know any exercises for skiing?

    The main areas you need to worry about for skiing are your legs, back, and abs. For legs, squats and lunges are king for weight lifting. You want to dial down the weight and do a lot more reps. Plyometrics are also terrific. For your core (abs, back and sides), you need to focus a lot of different ab exercises and back hyper-extensions. You can find a ton of great workouts for these areas on-line. Do you belong to a gym, like OZ fitness or 24 Hour Fitness? They tend to have ski conditioning classes. Sign up for one and see if you like it. At the very least it'll show you the types of exercises you shoudl be concentrating on.

Walking or running up steep hills will help, anything that exercises the muscles in your legs has got to help prepare you for skiing.

lunges, lunges, lunges!! try to do at least 100 each day and build up to more. squats hiking with weight on your back wall sits the plank pose google "ski conditioning" I can't remember where, but a ski magazine's website had short videos showing the moves. Also, some of them can be done with a yoga or ballast ball. have fun and don't overdue do it!

I know in ski magazine they had excersizes they were mostly leg excersizes like lungs and squats working the outer leg. You can look and see if there is a ski magazine website or just look leg excersizes up because your legs need to be really strong when skiing to have stamina. Good Luck.
