Technical recruiting - Is it a high skill job?  If so, what is THE most valuable skill for a technical recruiter to have?

Linda, many of those who say they are a Technical Recruiter are in fact technical word screeners working for a staffing or MSP provider - please note, these are not recruiters A Recruiter who specialises in a Technical Niche will not only understand the education, technology, career progression, salary or contract rates, where the technology fits in the technical big picture,  and how businesses uses the technology to enhance performance and delivery. A Hiring Manager wants to work with a Recruiter who understands the niche/specialisation and business and marketplace. Not just warm body related activities.

Unless if you have a passion for technologies, you fail to be a technical recruiter.I would also include good communication and sound knowledge about the technologies.I have a Technical Glossary guide posted in here…. Understanding these tech terms have helped me to be a better recruiter.
