Answer:
be sure that you are stretching every time before and after you run. Don't eat a lot of junk the day before you run. Drink plenty of water so you can be hydrated. Ice ANYTHING that may even feel like its hurting. If you are up to it, every once in a while look at your watch. This helps pacing. Also if in a race, make sure you can always see someone. If you can't do a surge to catch up. I know it stinks, but it does help a lot, and you can improve your time.

i'm a runner too and to change things up a bit, i do different exercises, like rollar blade a few miles, or swim an hour, or anything else that moves my legs so i work ALL of my muscles. other than that, drink lots and lots of water. keeps you hydrated and your apetite down (most people overeat because they are just thirsty but are used to getting their water from food, so they eat instead of drink). and dont over-work yourself. take days off because you'll get more from training when you're not working while your body is still trying to recover. wow sorry that was so long haha tell me how it goes! good luck!!!

The only thing I can think of is maybe get something that keeps you motivated, maybe music. Run as fast as you can, thinking there are no limits. When you are out of energy think there is a reward at the end if you beat a certain time. Whatever you do, dont get into things like steroids. But always stay focused and motivated

Just focus on running a decent plan every week, along with muscle training. I started out my 5k's in august with 27:57 minute times, and im now on 23:07 times. Ide say basically, run around 4-5 miles a day, then do some ab and leg workouts. Also try some short maybe 100m sprints after your run. You can go to www.mapmyrun.com and you can map one out for you so you will know where the 1 mile, 2 mile and so on are. And most importantly, dont forget to stretch!

Run with someone who CAN do 5K in your desired time frame -- 25 minutes -- and they'll keep you on your toes and you might even finish at that time!

What else do you think you can do? You run longer and harder, and you lift weights. Squats and lunges are the best bet. Plyometrics exercises will help too. Unless you want to use performance enhancers... Just go talk to Barry Bonds, rumor has it he knows people.

Try running just like you have been, only a little faster. That should really improve your time.
