    Paris is quite small being only about 35 square miles and has the best public transportation system in the world so you can stay anywhere within the city itself. That being said I still prefer to stay in the very most central arrondissments, namely 4, 5, or 6. My favorite hotel for over 30 years has been the St. Andre des Arts where a double will cost 91-96€ per night. the price includes a simple breakfast. http://www.france-hotel-guide.com/h75006saintandredesarts.htm. Paris is a relatively small city and staying anywhere within the 18 arrondissements is central as you are no more than a 10 minute walk from any metro station - fast and convenient transportatin. That plus the fact that the attractions are spread out in the city. We usually stay in the Montmartre area.......
