Why is AdWords ignoring my daily budget?

Conversion Optimization: How many full time employees are needed to grow a google adwords monthly budget from 5k to 100k in 12 months, while keeping the same CAC ratio?

    Short Answer: The no. of employees required depends on diversity not on the budget. The more wide the targeted range of keywords and landing pages for the Adwords campaign, will define the no. of employees to manage the same effectively. So if you increase the no. of keywords and landing pages X times you'll need X times the no. of employees you're currently employing. Long Answer: Let's say your team currently employs 1 person to manage Google Adwords and you're targeting 100 different keywords on say 10 different landing pages while spending 5k. You now decide to increase your budget to 100k. I'll cover the 2 extreme possibilities to show why you'll need a lot more employees or why you'll need no more employees. 1. No more Employees Needed You increase the budget on your currently targeted keywords because you have the scope to receive 20X traffic from the same keywords by just increasing the budget. In this scenario you still only need to optimize 100 keywords and the 10 corresponding landing pages, so you won't need any more employees. 2. 20X Employees Needed You decide to add 20X the no. of keywords and landing pages to diversify your adwords campaigns. Thus you now have to manage 2000 keywords and 200 landing pages. Now one employee earlier could only manage 100 keywords and 10 landing pages. So to manage everything in the same optimal manner you'd need to employ 19 more people for a total of 20 employees or 20 times the current requirement. PS: All the numbers used are lower than what an actual adwords executive could manage. Smaller numbers are used to ease the calculation.

Speaking from experience, 1-2 inhouse employees.  My business partner has built that size account before with over 1 million keywords and hundreds of ad groups by himself and not using any bid management software. It is all a matter of if you can find someone good enough to be able to build the account out systematically that it makes sense. Account structure is the biggest thing we see get messed up when we look at adwords accounts.
