What is this charge for traffic ticket?

Can a prosecutor change a traffic ticket to increase the charge? I pled not guilty to disregarding a traffic control device (a white line)

It is my understanding that you can be charged with a related violation as well. Crossing a white line can be an unsafe lane change. For example, if you were speeding, you can receive a speeding ticket. You may also be charged with reckless driving, depending on the circumstances, such as how much over the speed limit you were doing and the traffic and road conditions at the time. You should look up what the law says in your state for what you are charged with and see what it means BEFORE going to traffic court. And when you do go to traffic court, you need to be straight with the judge and acknowledge you are fully responsible for your actions and you understand what crossing the white line means. Judges hear all kinds of whining and denials, day in and day out. They know who is bullsh*tting them and who is outright lying to them. What they really want to hear from people is "I understand I am responsible for my actions at all times while I am behind the wheel of a vehicle." Assuming responsibility like that will go far to impress a judge that hears hundreds of pleas each week. I'm not saying you'll get off or that you'll get a reduced fine or points, but it's FAR more likely to happen when you own up to your responsibilites. I wish you luck.
