Which magazine is better: Popular Mechanics or Wired?

Is there a magazine like wired but for programmer audience?

  • I love Wired magazine. It's always an exploratory journey since it covers such a wide range of technology related topics. Is there a similar magazine that covers general technology topics (i.e. not just coding) but where I could expect to find articles about "Newest node.js frameworks and showcases" or "The past year: state of functional programming" etc? I'd love to see a magazine with a target audience like Y Combinator's Hacker News where you would find both generic society/science/gadget news but also digs into code.

  • Answer:

Although its focus is on game programming, you may find http://gdmag.com/ interesting if you are looking for a "coder's magazine"
