What mobile metrics do you measure?

What metrics do you use to measure the value of your mentor or coach?

  • Answer:

I would use the basic net promoter score -- would i recommend this person to help a friend.  I would make sure to compare my reactions immediately after each session with a week and a month later.  Immediate reaction may fluctuate depending on whether tough or positive feedback but over time you see the true value and impact of the advice.   Other metrics such as % of advice applied wouldn't be useful since the best coaches may give you that one gem that really sticks and matters long term.

You would set out objectives at the beginning of the engagement, well some cases are complex and may take more time but you would always able to figure out the effort from your coach. Just like a  sport, some teams need to be taught even the basics and the others just need to just work on strategy. If you achieve even 75% of those objectives then you would refer the coach to a friend. That would be the true value of your coach.
