What are good sources for learning advanced Android development?

I'm looking into learning advanced Android development, such as the subjects in Google I/O sessions. what are good sources for that? I've looked at some Android development books and it seems like they all cover the same stuff.

Embedded Android by Karim Yaghmour. http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920021094.do While it is still a work in progress, it's the most comprehensive explanation of Android internals I have found. While the book is not directly related to app development, its tour of the Android Open Source Project code will help.

I would also suggest building real Android apps. Taking an idea to a product and increasing your skills and understanding so that you can create the app is an overall great way to learn things. It is (generally) more effective over the long term and more fulfilling because you are learning so that you can create, and at least for me, creating is the best feeling in the world, for any reason ever.
