How can I know if my billabong board shorts is an imitation?

Compression shorts under board shorts?

  • I normally wear swim trunks but this year as I could not find any that fit me, I bought a pair of board shorts instead. I was wondering if it is fine to wear compression shorts underneath? I just don't know if I feel comfortable going commando with board shorts. I don't think I would wear regular boxers underneath them as it seems uncomfortable, but if not compression shorts, I do have tighter fitting underwear that is a 96-4 cotton-spandex mix. Could those work? I know board shorts are meant to dry fast and be worn commando, but I just don't want them to accidentally slide down or anything (I'm a very thin person, so swim suits have always been a problem for me). I'd rather be standing in the ocean in my underwear instead of naked if that were to happen.

    I always wear a speedo under my swimming shorts because it gives me some support on you know where So i think you should wear a speedo if you find them comfy then go a head a wear it no body will care they are meant for swimming

Yeah, I think it would be alright. It wouldn't look weird or anything in my opinion. I've seen people wear compression shorts for the wetsuit effect, so I see nothing wrong with it.

If your boardies do not have the mesh lining or you cut it out, a Speedo or TYR brief suit must be worn underneath. Chlorine will ruin you compression shorts. BTW, boardies do not dry fast and are not meant to be worn commando. Never, never, never wear underwear with a swimsuit. Cotton fibers plug up pool filters and the cost can range over $1000 per filter. A lifeguard that observes underwear with a swimsuit is supposed to ask the wearer to remove the cotton drawers or leave the pool. Plus, boardies can be street wear. Both boardies and underwear can be soiled and should not be worn.

Wear whatever you want--underwear, compression shorts, boxers, briefs, jock. Whatever is comfortable for you. And forget what others think. Have fun. I have worn everything for swimsuits--my briefs, boxers, regular shorts & underwear, dress clothes/tie,etc. You would be amazed that most people do not notice.
