Is crossfit right for me?

i'm a 17 year old guy. i'm 5'11 and weigh about 180 pounds. i can bench squat and power clean just about as much as the mid-sized guys on my school's football team. most of them look really cut have some even have 6 packs. however, i have a large amount of stomach fat. actually a large amount of fat overall. i was wondering if crossfit would help me lose that fat? i've tried ab workouts and lots of other stuff but they don't seem to work. if crossfit won't help me, what will? thanks for your guys' time!
