How large are the typical gallstones?

How can you tell if you have a stomach ulcer or gallstones just by the symptoms?

  • I am waiting on tests to find out if I have a stomach ulcer or gallstones. Still 2 weeks away and im stressing out about it. These are my symptoms. Extreme pain that comes and goes. The pain starts in the middle of my upper abdomen and kind of wraps around my back and down to my lower abdomen. The pain is so bad, no pain killers help nor does changing position, it lasts usually 3 hours. I feel bloated and have more gas. I feel a little nauseous when i get the pains. Otherwise i feel fine. Just wondering if anyone has experienced these symptoms and what it was. I really dont want it to be gallstones. Thanks so much :)

  • Answer:

Gall stones. I had pretty much the same symptoms. Hurts like crazy doesn't it.

Instead of mentioning symptoms that might explain your stomach problems, go to a federal website that deals with digestive disorders and diseases from A to Z. Go to http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov and begin reading about ulcers, gallbladder and gallstones. Click on A to Z and begin by clicking on Letter U for ulcer. Good Luck. Harrald
