Why are we allergic to cats?

Why am I allegeric to cats now. Never been allergic to cats before?

  • Every since this stray came to my house I've been sneezing and having running nose and sometimes my eyes water and be irritated but mainly I sneeze and have a running nose. I use to have a cat before when I was 8 and he was the same cat as she was Domestic shorthair and I didn't have these symptoms. I'm 13 now and having allergies to her. Could it be that she sheds a whole lot than the cat I use to own? Because she does shed a lot. She is also more affectionate and hangs around with me a lot. My other cat didn't always be so affectionite and always went outside. What could be the reason I'm allergic to cats all of a sudden

    Allergies develop at any time for no reason through a person's life. You can go along fine until you are 60 and develop allergies. Also, some cats (unknown why) will cause allergies to act up more than other cats.

you could've develloped allergies. I develloped allergies to pollen, but last year I could go outside without allergies or anything. also, outdoor cats are really different then indoors. indoor cats shed all over the place whereas outdoor cats are outside and shed their fur in different areas, meaning there's more fur in your house which causes you to have allergies.
