It would be helpful if you stated what type of mouse you use and how it is powered and connected to your computer. It sounds like you're probably using a wireless mouse - there can be a couple of things that would be the first things I'd check. Given I don't have any info on what mouse you have I'll just try my best. If you have a wireless mouse that has a base unit that's connected to your PC, check that there's no obstruction between the mouse and the base unit - check that you're using the mouse at the correct distance and try pressing the reset button on the base unit and wiggling the mouse close to it. Try also pressing the reset button on the actual mouse. Some mice will automatically shut down if they can't obtain a signal from the base unit to save power, and a reset can help them to find it again. Fiddle around - try resetting the mouse, first then the base, try resetting the base first then the mouse.... Check the batteries in the mouse if it has them. It sounds obvious, but a lot of people don't realise wireless mice often have internal power supplies. That's the most help I can be for the moment given you've not given that much info about the set up you have :) I hope I helped! Good luck! :)

Sounds like a damaged PS/2 mouse cable. PS/2 peripherals cannot be plugged in while the computer is on. Similarly, if a PS/2 peripheral is disconnected while the computer is on, the computer must be power-cycled in order to make it available to the Operating System. The Ideal resolution is for you to purchase a USB or PS/2 mouse.

1st of all make sure everything is Plugged in properly, just to rule out anything like loose connections. Also if possible Scan for viruses, As sometimes They can interfere with computer hardware. Sometimes also the sensor in the mouse can start getting weak
