Flag pole planning permission uk law?
-
I want to erect a flag pole in my back garden and fly only the union jack or st George cross. The flag pole I want to erect is 20ft do I need planning permission? Ive seen other houses nearby with a flag pole flying the union jack. If If need permission, how likely am I to get it? Being the jubilee year and team GB at the Olympics I want to fly the flag. Thanks.

Answer:
No permission required so long as it is below the rest of the surrounding buildings heights and it's on your land. It can be argued that it is a temporary structure and can be dismantled upon request should the local authorities question it's existance.
