Can you park in Downtown Disney to go to the Theme Parks?
-
We just got passes for the first time. The parking is so expensive. We will probably go most of the times in the late afternoon or evenings during the week after work for just a few hours. I know you can park in Downtown Disney for free for three hours. Or five hours with validation. Is walking from the parking in Downtown Disney to the actual themes parks really far?? Do you know if a lot of places will validate if you just buy a drink or something? This is in Ahaheim. Disneyland and California Adventure, not DisneyWorld.

Answer:
You can hop on the Monorail with your ticket or Annual Pass and exit in Tomorrowland, or walk the 10 minutes or so through Downtown Disney. Parking can be added to your Annual Pass for a small fee. Daily parking is $15 and allows in-and-out privileges that day with your receipt.

Just pay for parking and quit trying to circumvent the rules.

You should buy the year long parking pass. It's only $90. It sounds like alot but totally worth it if you have a pass and are planning to go very often. It pays for itself.

Not all places validate for parking, so you just can run in somewhere and buy a coffee or soda and get your parking ticket validated. Some or most of all the restaurants do with a meal purchase, the theater does with admission tickets to a movie. probably some of the retail stores do with a purchase of probably some minimum amount. You would probably have to ask around and find out. After to make the purchase or eat and a restaurant then walk the extra way (or catch the Monorail), you may as well as paid the $15 for parking in the regular lot and taken the tram which actually puts you at the "end" of Downtown Disney right near the security tents going into the main entrance plaza..

I know they do this in florida, but they offer discounted parking if you get there later in the day. But to answer your question, you can, yes, but to get to some of the parks you need to ride the monorail and/or the boat.

No, it's not far. You just walk through Downtown Disney, and you're right at the main entrance. So, I guess if you're just going for a few hours, that would be fine.
