If you can't run an ethernet cable directly, you could use ethernet via the electricity circuit. A device plugs into a socket near the router, connected to the router through a short ethernet fly lead. A similar device plugs into an electrical socket in your room, linked to your computer through an ethernet fly lead. It works as though you had a normal ethernet connection. Here 's a link to BroadbandBuyer where I bought mine but you can buy them all over the place (Maplin, PC World, Novatech, DABS etc.). http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/Finders/Homeplug/ Even the slowest of these devices is quicker than most internet connections so, unless you have a fibre optic internet connection, you will not notice any difference in access speeds.

No. A telephone line will only permit ONE connection to the DSL service. Anything else trying to connect to it will stop the connection. You can only use one router. You are better to use wireless, and if the signal is poor from that distance you will need to buy a wireless repeater or range extender to place between the router and your machine. If you can not do that you can get ethernet over power adapters, these plug in to power by the router, then a network cable is connected from the router to the adapter. Then a matching unit plugged in in your room with a cable to the PC. These are not as efficient as a true wired connection, but are sometimes better than a poor wireless signal.

This is what you might want http://www.maplin.co.uk/devolo-200mbps-powerline-kit-98007 Its just a sample, there are many makes/models with different speeds, i suggest looking it up. One plugs into the plug socket by your router and you plug the other in your room by your pc. Then you run an ethernet cable from the router to the box and in your room run one form the box to your pc. They use your house elctric cables to run a signal through. Failing that get a wireless 'N' router, dongle as they are just as good.

you need a ethernet cable. it has to come from the router cant just come out the wall so either use wireless or get a really long ethernet cable
