How to gain more work experience?

How can I gain work experience when nobody gives me a chance?

• I've only worked at a hair salon, but it went out of business. I tried in several others and I wouldn't get hired because I had little experience. So I gave up on the beauty salon stuff and now I keep applying in stores, restaurants, malls, wherever etc... And they won't give me a chance not even for an interview. How can I gain experience like that? I have even tried applying to be a volunteer in libraries and hospitals but it seems like every where they give me excuses that now it's not the time, and pure excuses. What else to do?

  Hon, it is not U... many ppl are going through the same thing EXCEPT they have experience.. especially if u live in the States.. The economy has begun to pick a bit, not much.. There are layoff, business closing.. money is tight.. Just keep going to the fast food places, they have a big turn over, and you have more of a chance.. Good Luck~~~~~ !!
