How to improve my 5k time?

  • during my last cross country season i went from running a 24 minute to a 19:38 and i and proud of my improvement, but after i got under 19:45 my times were fluctuating between 19:38 and 19:45 and i did not seem to be improving anymore. no matter how hard i worked in practice and races, i never seemed to get better. So i was wondering if there any techniques i could apply or workouts i could do to improve my time

If you want a good workout. I would work on running either ladders(400m, Few min break, 800m, Break, Mile, Break, 800m, break, 400m, Finished). You could also do some squats and things like that. Something else i like to do is Run One mile as fast as i can. Then bout 10min break then anouther mile. Also, you could try doing calf running (looks dumb but works) to build calf muscle, its where you basically tip toe as you run. so your heals never touch the ground. Hope I Helped!
