Slight fat loss workout/diet?

My ACL is torn,but I want to workout for fat loss,please help!!?

(please read carefully its a bit complicated) I am in 12th std which is v imp for my life.I cant give time for surgery and recovery till the exam gets over next year because of my daily 8 hr of classes and studies.I will do surgery after exam...BUT now my problem is that.. I WAS LOSING FATS BEFORE AND REALLY HAPPY TO SEE RESULTS BUT NOW I CANT RUN AND DO OTHER CARDIO WHICH DEPENDS ON LEGS. TELL ME WHAT SHOULD I DO TO CONTINUE MY FAT LOSS-- IN SIMPLE WORDS TELL ME WORKOUTS THAT DOES NOT FULLY DEPENDS ON LEGS. well i can do crunches,push ups and some cardio but they DO NOT PUMP MY HEART AS BEFORE. AND ONE MORE QUERRY--IS WEIGHT TRAINING WITHOUT EFFECTIVE TO LOSS FAT SPECIALLY AROUND TUMMY.

    Even with a torn ACL you can still ride a stationary bike, lift weights with your arms and upper body. In fact you can even work out the legs. It would be good for your ACL to make the injured leg as strong as possible before the surgery so this would work in your favor. Weight lifting has an added benefit in that it causes an increase in fat burning for hours past the activity. The rule for weight loss is this. First on last off. One cannot spot reduce. If you workout the entire body you are going to find that the weight will come off everywhere. Some spots are going to be more resistant so dietary changes also have to be included. This should be to avoid all sugar and white flour. Drop these from your daily intake and weight will come off faster.
