What size speaker wire for subwoofers?
-
I am running a 2000 watt amp @ 1 ohm, what size speaker wire do I need? Is 12 gauge too small? Recommend any companies? If 12 is enough I will get the rockford fosgate 12 gauge but they don't have a 10 gauge one.

Answer:
If your sub is only about 500 watts you can go with a 12 gauge. But basing it on that you have a 2000 watt amp, i would assume that you are going to put a pretty powerful subwoofer on there. So if i were you i would max out the wire size which is 8 Gauge wire for subwoofers. go here http://www.crutchfield.com/shopsearch/8_gauge_speaker_wire.html it is 1.29 a foot... and its monster cable which you know is great quality. if you get a larger gauge than you need, it cant do any harm only help.
