How can I design a workout program for myself?

Which one is the best workout program for me ?

  • I am 14 yrs old and I'm 5'5 , and 156lbs . I live a very active and healthy lifestyle , but i don't feel comfortable with my body *I know a need a little more self confidence but I'm just not there yet* . My entire family is a bit on the 'thick side' even though we workout . My mom said that's it's in my genetics to be this weight but i honestly want to change by body . I used to do karate but due to a knee injury i can no longer do karate for a while . The doc said that i can workout but i can't put too much pressure on my knees . I have stared back to eat healthier foods for the past 4 months and i have lost a bit of weight . but i really want a workout for teens preferably . Keeping my knee injury in mind , what are some dvd workouts that i can purchase for teens ??? * I can do intense workouts , but not extreme* I also saw some other workouts that fit my budget (not over $200 U.S) . I want to know which one gives the best results . 1. Slim in 6 workout - Debbie Siebers link - http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/slim_in_6.do 2. Turbo jam workout - Chalene Johnson link - http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/getting_started/turbo-jam.do 3. Hip-Hop Abs workout - Shaun T Link - http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/hip_hop_abs.do 4. Rockin' Body - Also by Shaun T Link - http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/rockin_body.do I really want to lose this extra weight . Your help would be greatly appreciated :-)

  • Answer:

My wife likes hip hop abs and zumba workouts BUT she likes to dance like crazy so it is fun for her. I did a hip hop abs workout with her once. It wasnt that bad, but Im not a dancer so it was awkward. From the looks of it the Turbo jam is gonna be pretty intense. 1000 calories a workout potential is scorching. Id say pick the one you like most and then modify whatever you need to to allow for your knee problems. You can always just sub something entirely for a particular exercise as long as you keep moving.
