Should I double major in Pre-Veterinary studies and Japanese?
-
I really want to learn Japanese, and possibly become a japanese language teacher. I kind of want to be a Veterinarian, because the salary would be high, and I love animals. Since I was younger I loved to take care of animals even if they weren't mine, I couldn't leave an abandoned animal to just get killed. It makes me feel appreciated when I see an animal happy from me just nursing them back to health. I love the beauty of the japanese language, and I enjoy speaking a few phrases or sentences especially to younger children. Seeing vets work, and being around a lovely language both gives me that type of excitement and joy. I love the culinary and culture, and find it fun to do with my family. I don't know if I am able to pick both simutaneously or one of the other. I'm a junior in high school and I'm 17.. T__T I have a 3.5 GPA, because of epilepsy I had missed school a lot, and couldn't prepare for my ACT, it was 16 and I plan on retaking it ^.^ But I am not sure if a double major with these two areas of study would be smart at all. I think both would have tons of work and study needed to succeed, and I don't know if I could find the time to do both. Also, Veterinary school extends passed just four years, while Japanese may end once I get a Bachelor's degree (unless I choose to further my studies). Based on that, it seems like I really have to chose between one of them. But I don't want to pick Japanese, because I am not sure if I could have a successful career in it. I also don't really want to pick Veterinarian because I am not sure if my heart is in it (I also don't know if I could put an animal down or actually deal with giving one surgery). Both professions seem interesting, but I don't really want to chose one over the other, and I don't think I can handle both. TLDR: Japanese, Veterinarian, both, or neither, and why?

Answer:
Pre-veterinary studies is not a major. It's just a group of classes. You can major in any field and take these classes.
