Is there any protein bars that do not contain nuts?

Since peanuts are actually legumes, can an assortment of nuts with peanuts satisfy your protein requirements?

  • I read online that assorted nuts can't satisfy your protein requirements by themselves, because they don't have complete proteins, so you need to balance them with legumes. But I also read online that peanuts aren't technically a nut, they're actually a legume, and this is the case not just technically, but also in terms of the kinds of protein they contain. So does that mean that by eating other types of nuts with peanuts, you can satisfy your protein needs?

  • Answer:

as long as you eat a variety of foods, period, you will satisfy your protein needs. Heck even apples have 1 mg of protein in them. Most all foods do. You are right though, a peanut is a legume and they grown in the ground. However, I seem to remember reading that the whole "complete protein" thing was debunked and that all one needs to do is eat a wide variety of foods and all will be well. Include in your diet beans, nuts seeds, a wide range of fruits and veggies, whole grains and you will be fine.
