What to charge for private home care?

How much should I charge for in home child care weekly?

  • I want to start babysitting weekly (mon-fri) .. but I don't know how much to charge weekly, or per child. I've heard 85 weekly for one child and 115 weekly for two, or just 5 dollars an hour... but I'm not sure about those prices. Any advice is helpful! Thanks I live in Louisiana, if that helps/matters.

  • Answer:

If you are not lisenced the price is $50.00 per day. $85.00 a week is not enough. You should ask at least $25.00 a day but it depends on your age and how many hours you plan to work.

honestly when I watched kids I charge a fair price of $20 per kid per day. If the family had more then one kid then I would give them a discount to help them save a little money, plus that keeps them coming back to you (competitive pricing) If they are really close friends or family members then you know help them out a little. You help people out and people help you out. It how karma works. You feel better...They feel better and they keep coming back or stay with you for your generous pricing

the lowest possible price you can charge even free if possible remember Every 3.6 seconds someone dies of hunger we need to start helping each-other

When I babysat I did it for 6-7 an hour if the child was over 10, if they were younger and required more care, I upped it to 10. :)
