How do you send an item via courier?

• Hi, I am really frustrated and confused. I recently used an reputed international courier agency to send documents for visa processing from UK. However the courier has gone completely missing and the agency is not able to track it. They have asked me to claim for it. However they want receipts for all the items. Unfortunately the courier consisted only documents and not item. However each and every document in the courier was original copy of my payslips, bank statement, tax returns, travel insurance copies, singed rental agreement and others. All of these documents are original. I am recollecting all the original documents again and its a real pain and will take nearly a month to collect them. I tried to explain this to the agency and they said they will not compensate me until I produce the receipt. I don't understand how to proceed now. Can anyone of you answer. Its a real pain collecting the original documents and i am going to spend approximately 100 pounds in travel, fees and other to get the original documents back. The agency has already told me the receipts cannot be for the new documents you are collecting it should be for documents present in the courier (i.e back dated). Any help will be much appreciated.

  If you didn't get a receipt at the time, you can't get a 'back dated receipt' now. Might be worth getting several certified copies of your docs in case you need them again?
