How much education do need to be a astronomer?

Do I need both Driver Education and Driver Training to get my driving permit in Cal.?

I am in the process to getting my permit, but I keep reading on the things I need and I am confused. I read that you need driver education or driver training. But then I read that you need driver education and driver training. So I am confused. I am working on Drivers Education right now, but I want to know if I need driver training too?
Answer:

all you half to do is go to the drivers ed classes that u signed up for thats all you need to get a permit that is what i did and i got my permit about 6 months ago.

You MUST either have completed or be enrolled in a Driver Ed class BEFORE you can get an Instruction Permit. The DMV will not issue one without that prerequisite. Then, once you have your permit, and any time during the 6 months you must hold your permit before you can get your license you MUST also take a behind the wheel Driver Training class.
