What could this pain above my kneecap be?

Pain on the lower side of my kneecap?

  • i have a pain on the inner side of just below my kneecap. Here's a link to a photo: http://www.bigkneepain.com/images/kneepict-copy.gif The pain appears to be approximately near where it says ''Collateral Ligaments'' (its a little bit hard to tell where excactly the pain is) It hurts every time i bend my knee, stand up, jump, anything. But its only there for maybe a little above a week, and then disappears for a few weeks again, and then comes back; without me getting noticeably injured or anything.. What kind of damage could this be? What possible reasons could it be for this to happen? How can i get rid of it/decrease the pain? If any personal experiences, got any tips? (No, i dont want any medication, and im most likely not going to see a doctor)

I didn't look at the picture to be honest, but my suggestion is go talk to your doctor. Doctor's and physiotherapists can help identify what the damage is. As for my personal experience, I had a torn meniscus. My knee was quite painful and I was seeing the physiotherapist. One day I bent down and it just "snapped" so they said it was probably my meniscus. I ended up getting surgery in the end. If I hadn't gone to see the doctor about it, I'd probably still have it and end up with arthritis in 5 years.
