Why does my shoulder hurts when I lift my arm up?

Hurt Arm?I can Hardly Lift with my right arm.?

  • I wrote this last night. It started earlier when I tried to stretch my shoulder. I already know I have bad joints, always have since I've had my son 2 years ago. But while I was stretching it I heard 3 crunching/grinding sounds. it wasn't to bad but it was a dull irritating pain that makes my shoulder numb, and my collar bone hurts too. I'm a checker as well I've heard that it can take a toll on your body as well. As I was putting my son to bed tonight I wasn't thinking about my shoulder and used my bad arm to lift and cover him up with his heavy blanket. I wasn't able to move it for only 15 minutes. But that was the worse pain I've felt. Now that dull pain is no longer dull but I can move it more. I have to work tomorrow and I'm worried that I'm not going to be able to lift things. It is my checking arm that I hurt. Has anyone else experienced this and know what the problem is? Do I need to go to a doctor? I'm debating whether I need to call in tomorrow or not. I did end up calling in today

  • Answer:

Yes, you need to see a doctor as soon as you can. It might be something that can be fixed, but whatever it is, the longer you go without getting it checked out, the worse it's likely to be when you do find out. Don't put it off; the possible long-term damage is likely to be far worse than any short-term problems.
