  The free version of Yahoo mail is designed to only work at the Yahoo mail web site. If you pay for Yahoo Plus you can use Yahoo mail in a standalone email program such as Windows Mail. I do not explain how to set that up here. When you click on a link at a web site or within a program to send email it tries to go to the default email "program". Depending on your operating system it can be one of multiple programs. When the program starts it is going to indicate that mail has not been set up in it and may ask for POP3 addresses and passwords. There is no way to set it up with the free version of Yahoo mail. There are ways to get links in web sites to go to the Yahoo website. There is no easy way to make links in programs such as a photo editor go to Yahoo mail on the web.
