  • Answer:

well you have to mark your music. practice by strumming up and down in different patterns over and over. also marking the music with D for down and U for up will help alot.

I like to strum along with the song on my knee, and just listen to the song a lot.

all you do is hold one cord... lets say the G chord... and strum all sorts of different patterns... dont ever switch your chord. on the traditional strumming patter D DU UDU for example... you never stop moving your hand... there are just times when you aren't strumming the strings. and the strumming should be in your arm from your elbow, not in your wrist. but basically just practice them all the time holding one chord and you will get them eventually... and if you're having a lot of trouble with one pattern especially, then break it in half or fourths and add them together slowly

First, pick a song. Then play that song over and over again without a strumming pattern. Just play it however comes naturally. Start singing with it, then eventually when you have that multitasking down, look at the strumming pattern. I usually play it a lot with the strumming pattern just instrumentally before I start singing with it. Then, eventually, you'll have it down. Do this with a few songs, and then the rest will come naturally with practice. Hope this helped.

You strum a chord repeatedly in perfect time (Slow if you have to) until you dont mess up then you just slightly change the strumming pattern try all strumming patterns you can imagine It just takes alot of practice if you are willing to try You will get better

Practice. Listen. Practice. Listen. And repeat. Also, try to strum by rotating your wrist from the elbow rather than flopping it about. You'll be able to keep better time and you'll be more accurate, with time.

count in 8's!!!! practice strumming just down strokes 8 times in E, then 8 times in A, then try 16 of each repeat this an then occasionally use upstrokes and different timing and different chords like B(is good with these)

LEARN HOW TO READ MUSIC because once you can READ REAL MUSIC then TIMING is ALL RIGHT THERE.. people who ask these strumming questions are usually too stupid to do anything but use those stupid TABS which don't have TIMING.
