Are Bayliners good boats?

Does anybody know any good boats?

• Alright so this may be a little long, bear with me please :) Me and my dad go fishing every Sunday when we can and we've only been able to get as far as we can cast from shore but would love to be able to get in the middle and get a memorable fish. We do not have a boat. For fathers day I have been looking for a good boat, no inflatables because if we get one and then catch a good fish, he thrashes around and which he will, our boat is a goner. Now, if you've used an inflatable and they've proved to be excellent please tell me, I'll check it out. I've looked for the hard plastic boats and I had found one but don't know if it's worth the 600 dollars [yes boats are pricey and I have found that out if we want a good one but we are a lowish income family, can't go spending thousands of dollars]. Does anyone know exact names or brands that sell boats that are good? A simple little rowboat that fits at least 2+ people would be great. Even just a simple little boat is good.   It's a tad bit late to be planning something like this now. You should be able to find some Rigid Dinghies at a Sporting Goods store, Marine Supply Center or Craigslist. I've included a link to a supplier so you can see some boats and pricing. It's up to you to decide what's best for you and your budget. I would NOT knock inflatables. Don't get a Wal-Mart inflatable, but something more like an Avon, Zodiac, or West Marine generic with a Hypalon shell, not the cheap plastic or vinyl. I keep an Avon inflatable on my motor yacht as a putt around boat and they work very well. These are not cheap boats and can cost $5k and better.
