My friend have a problem with his Mac?

New Mac Beta voice/mic doesn't work.?

I have a Mac G5 running OS 10.4.11 with iSight cam attached. My friend has an iMac running OS 10.5 and built in cam & mic. We both just downloaded the new Mac Beta update with voice. We start a voice conversation, I can hear him, he can not hear me! Does YIM voice not work with an iSight cam, or is the problem that the new YIM requires an Intel Mac on OS 10.5.x ?
