How can i fix my webcam for yahoo messanger it keeps telling me that my cam doesnt support required pic size?

when trying to use my webcam in yahoo it gives me this message that say webcam doesnt support the required picture size and when the box comes up where you are suppose to see the cam pic it says not connected but it is.
