Does palm centro use SMS or edge for yahoo messenger?

I have unlimited texting but no Internet on palm centro. If I use yahoo messenger on it, does it count as a text message or does it use data?

it should count as text message and since you have unlimited texting, you won't be charged if you are still unsure, why not look it up here in yahoo answers with keywords such as "instant message text"
